Born on April 26, 1966 in Moscow. In 1988 he graduated from the international department of the Faculty of Journalism of Moscow State University (languages - French, English, Czech). Then he came to Izvestia, where he worked for 23 years in the international department (including 10 years – his editor). The first trip was in Afghanistan, 1989. The first interview with a foreign leader – with the then president of this country Najibullah. Since then, reports from “hot spots” have become a kind of hobby: the besieged Sarajevo, the Serbian-Croatian front, Nagorno-Karabakh, Iraq, Kosovo and so on in the same spirit. In total I visited (on work and as a tourist) 150 countries. He was a Moscow correspondent for French newspapers La Croix and La Tribune. Participated in many international conferences, including the French institutes IRIS and IFRI, the British “Chatam House”. Currently – a columnist for the newspaper Kommersant Daily, a political newspaper in Russia.
